Please note: our online maps will not be available on Sunday 19 August between 8am and 6pm because of security updates.

Definitive Map and Statement

The Definitive Map and Statement for Oxfordshire is the county's legal record of public rights of way.

View online

You can view an electronic copy of the Definitive Map and Statement online. It has a 'relevant date' of 21 February 2006 so the actual published version of the map and statement does not include changes made to the public rights of way network since it was produced.

View paper copies

You can view paper copies of the map and statement at our Countryside office in Eynsham, or in individual districts.

Details of changes to the Definitive Map and Statement since 21 February 2006 are available here. Last updated October 2017, but without prejudice to any existing unrecorded rights

Countryside Access Map

The online countryside access map shows Public Rights of Way, access land and walks and rides in Oxfordshire. It allows you to measure distances. It also shows the changes to the definitive map since 21 February 2006.

Please note: To report a problem please go to the Public Rights of Way Reporting Map. If it is your first time, you will need to register.

Make your own maps

Public Rights of Way data has now been published as Open Data under the Ordnance Survey Open Data Licence, allowing you to download the data and create your own maps.
