Governors

What a governor does and how to become one.

What do school governors do?

School governors and trustees are strategic leaders. They have a vital role to play in making sure every child gets the best possible education. The role of the school governor is demanding but very rewarding and is a great way to give back to your local community. Good schools need good governance.

Governors come from all walks of life: there is no requirement to be involved in education, or to be a parent. Indeed, governing boards seek a diversity of skills, experience and expertise across their membership.
