Talks and displays

We offer talks to any social group or professionals on doorstep crime and scams with an emphasis on the recipients of these talks becoming a Friend Against Scams.

We can also provide displays on these and other topics for events in the community.

Young Friends Against Scams

We offer 'Young Friends Against Scams' sessions. Young Friends is part of Friends Against Scams and has been designed to teach young people aged 8+ about:

  • scams and how they can affect people's lives
  • different types of scams, including – postal, telephone, online and doorstep
  • how to protect themselves from being scammed
  • how to spot and help a scam victim

Junior Citizen sessions

Junior Citizen - teaching children how to keep safe in everyday life - has been running since 1991 and is offered free to every year 6 state school pupil. Every year, about 4,500 children visit Junior Citizen.

During their two-hour visit, the children experience eight different safety scenarios and each child can make a 999 telephone call.

Each child receives a free workbook to allow the learning to continue back in school.

The sessions are provided free of charge by the Junior Citizens Trust

Consumer challenge quiz

This is a competition for special needs schools. The children are in teams of four and have to answer consumer-type questions.
