Safeguarding Generalist Course

This course aims to raise awareness about your roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and young people within your organisation.

Half day course for those who work with children, young people, families or carers more than 3 days a month (on average)

The objectives of this course are to:

  • Explain what is meant by 'safeguarding' (including child protection) and promoting children's welfare
  • Recognise who to consult within your agency
  • Identify what to do if you are concerned about a child
  • Demonstrate an awareness of current protocols and procedures

Foster Carers need to complete the Generalist Safeguarding course during their induction year and then complete advanced safeguarding every two years.
