How to book

You will need your library membership card number and your PIN. Children's computers can only be booked with a children's card number. You must have an adult membership card (16 or over) to book an adult computer.

Please be aware that you will lose your session if you do not take up your reservation within 10 minutes of the start time.

In some libraries the number of "drop in" computers which can be used without needing to be a member of Oxfordshire Libraries is limited, or the time allowed on those computers is limited. This is to help us manage demand. You can join Oxfordshire Libraries for free at any time.

Book a computer

To book a computer at any library, you can also:

  • telephone us
  • ask at the library desk.

Reserving a computer does not guarantee its availability. If the specific PC you requested becomes unavailable due to technical problems we will try to transfer your reservation to another PC.

No more than two people may use a computer at one time, subject to the discretion of library staff.

Internet access and other resources

As well as computers with free internet access, you can also find access to many online reference resources including Ancestry Library Edition.

Introduction to computers

All Oxfordshire libraries are UK Online centres and we will help you to sign up to UK Online’s Learn My Way, an excellent self-help introduction to computers and the internet that you can use to learn at your own pace. Some libraries also offer regular free computer help sessions in addition to special events. Please ask staff for further details
