Waste sites

Information about the identification of potential future waste development sites.

The Minerals and Waste Local Plan: Part 2 - Site Allocations will identify specific sites for waste management development for the period to 2031 and will set out detailed policies for management of development of those sites. It will follow on from Part 1 of the plan - the Core Strategy which was adopted in September 2017.

Following the adoption of the Core Strategy, we are now commencing preparation of the Site Allocations plan. Further information and a timetable for preparation of this document are contained in the latest Minerals and Waste Development Scheme (eight revision) 2017.

All previous work on site options is now being refreshed in the preparation of the Site Allocations plan. We are currently making a renewed call for nominations for sites to be considered for possible allocation in the plan.

Site nomination forms

If you have a site that you would like to be considered for possible allocation, please fill out the nomination form below and return to the minerals and waste policy team at the following address. If you have previously nominated a site, please check that the information we hold is still correct and look at the nomination form to see what further information we may now need you to provide. Site nominations should be submitted to the County Council by 2nd March 2018.

Site options

We initially invited industry, landowners and other interested parties to nominate sites to be considered for inclusion in the Waste Sites Document, in 2009, but work on the Site Allocation Document was put on hold and is now being completely refreshed following the adoption of the Core Strategy.

The list of nominated sites below will be updated and replaced following the current call for sites.
