Skip operator's licence

How a skip owner or supplier can apply for a skip operator's licence.

Before being given a permit for placing skips on the highway, you - as the skip owner or supplier - must first be granted a licence under the Highways Act (it is not the responsibility of the builder or householder to obtain this licence). You will need to carry adequate public liability insurance and be a registered waste carrier. Terms and conditions will apply.

Regulations relating to skip licences.

No fee is required when applying for this licence.
