Armed forces in Oxfordshire

Union flagThe armed forces in Oxfordshire are changing.

The county's large military presence has changed with RAF Brize Norton becoming the UK's single air movement base. The Army's rebasing plans will have few implications for Oxfordshire, however there will be some changes in regiments.

Oxfordshire's close relationship with the military is cemented in the Community Covenant: a statement of mutual support between the civilian community and our local armed forces, and the first military/civilian partnership of its type in the country.
